Todays topic is Tools Online.
If you’re an online person like me you need to set up some functions that you can access from wherever you are in the world. What you need is naturally up to you and your specific needs but I will make some suggestions and give you some thoughts of what I need for my purposes.

Documents online:

I have to say that I’m impressed by Google Docs and as it’s a free service it’s even more impressing. What you can do with Google docs? Well you can create Word, Excel Presentation and form documents. These documents you can the download in various formats, print them, share them with others online and much more. And there’s of course a massive amount of templates for various needs you can choose from.

Dashnotes offers an office environment online with calendar, Contacts, ToDo List, Activities, Commentaries and also online storage of documents. Dashnote is perfect if you have a small company or otherwise needs to be able to share and cowork.

Microsoft also got a service, but the documents you store there are not editable and you can’t create new documents either. To do anything here you need to have MS Office installed.

Scribd  is another type of service. Here you can publish your documents and or share them with your friends and colleagues.

Bookmarking Online:

The obviously choice here is absolutely Delicious, the ease to use and speed speaks for itself. Other bookmarking sites is Digg, Stumbleupon and Diigo.

Bookmarking of photos is also availible, I use Vis.ualize.us fo that purpose. There are others too like FFFFOUND however the later is an invite site and not all can get an invite to it.

Photos online:

I have already discussed these in a previous post!

But for online sharing Flickr, Share on OVI or Picasa has to be the obvious choices.

Photo Editing:

I have found some interesting choices here, and the first one I would like to point you too is Picnik, This site I use more and more frequent these days when I edit my photos. It’ simple to use and have all the necessary functions you might need. You can even clip a whole webpage and get it as a photo that you can use later in an blogpost or otherwise online.
Other online photo editors are pixenate, Fotoflexer and Lunapic.

Storage online:

Of course you need a place to store other things online to, like music, movies etc and for that purpose there are loads of free services and I get I feel that “the sky is the limit” here.
My tip here is Oosah that gives you a whopping 1TB of free online storage! Oosah is also available for Iphone users.
You can also check up Kadoo that offers an web 2.0 functionality with free 10GB of storage.
An other option is Dropbox which provides both storage and syncing of your extra valuable files online. Dropbox gives you 2GB of free online storage, the syncing agent is available for both Mac and Windows. The service is an invite only service, so if you’re interested you kan add in you comment that you want an invite and I might be able to give you one.

Virtual Computer:
If you ever feel the need to have an online virtual computer, g.ho.st gives you an online virtual computer that has 5GB of storage for your files and has built in Office like suite and loads of other useful tools. Her is a screendump of how it looks like:
