I decided to talk this time about the excellent service Posterous. I have started to use it very frequently and I have now also added a widget on this blog showing my latest posts over there. For you who uses Tumblr you can maybe see an resemblance, but Posterous is dead simple to use. You just email your postings to the adress for your Posterous blog, and swissh, it’s published!
For me this service is what I have been looking for, to be able to post to one place and have that service to autopost to your other services. For me this was so elegant and beautiful so I had to try it out. You can setup three diffrent blogs using the same email, so I have now the following ones:
I use them for different Purposes and if you go in to them you can see how and why.
Statusphere
- Jaiku
- Plurk
- Identica
- Friendfeed
Blogs
- Blogger
- Wordpress
- Tumblr
- Livejournal
- Shopify
- Typepad
- Xanga
- MovebleType
- Other blog (with atom posting abilities)
Media
- Flickr
- Picasa
- Youtube
- Vimeo
Bookmarks
- Delicious
As you can see it’s no need to do updates on any other service included in this list anymore.
Many diffrent formats are supported

It converts your links From all this Videosites into a playable Video (YouTube, Google Video, Hulu, Funny Or Die, Omnisio, MixWit, Justin.TV, Fliggo, Vimeo, motionbox, TED Talks, Viddler, Dailymotion, Blip.tv, Revver, TeacherTube, GodTube, seesmic, and Brightcove.)
And there’s even a Bookmarklet you use use to drop content from the web into your Posterous.
When I started to use Posterous on the 11th of June I wasn’t sure to what or when to use it. I had seen that a lot of the web2.0 and PR2.0 people was using it, so I was obviously curious. But what I could se, and what I liked was the very simple way of updating, so I made up my account and now I basicly updates there everyday. It’s perfect to use when I’m out and doing something, or just travelling and want to share a thought longer than 140 characters, but yet posts to Twitter. (Kind of a twitlonger service when used only with text!) And it’s also easy to tag your postings, you just enter it like this in the email’s subject field: [Title] ((tag: cat, cute)) (Obviously there will be a lot of photos of my cat Trollet, but hey she’s a sweet and beautiful Cat, so who can resist it!)
So for you who not started to blog yet, give Posterous a shoot I promise you will not be disapointed!
Personally I have started to think of Posterous as an Midi blog and I think many can agree on that.
