Mobility
There’s no questi0n about it that 2009 was the year when Mobile use increased dramatically mainly because of Apple’s Iphone. And my educated guess is that we have only seen the start of the revolution. It will be increasingly important for service providers to already from the start have mobile applications to have a chance to get on the train. Failure (as in a way with the overhyped Google Wave) is easy to happen if there’s no mobile apps. Mobile optimized WebPages and blogs will also ve crucial to serve the large number of users via mobile Internet.
Looking further on in the future I think we will not have especially large storage on our devices, we will store all our information online. I have already since about one year gone to that solution myself, I use Google docs, Evernote, Flickr and Ovi (and some other ones too!) to store my information online. Today I can do most of my Internet tasks from my Mobile unit, for me the only limit is the size of the screen.
Real Time web
Real time web solutions will be more interesting during the coming year, and we have already seen the dawn of it through Twingly channels and Google’s and BING that now integrates realtime search results from Twitter and Facebook in their results. I’m sure that during 2010 there will be even more solutions coming in this field to help us keep track of what’s hot.
Augmented reality
Now this is really interesting, Augmented reality will thanks to the mobile revolution enter our lives more and more the coming years for sure. With applications like Wikitude World Browser we get great help in finding correct information about our surroundings, sights and other essential information.
Final words
This post concludes my series of thoughts for 2010, will be interesting to follow up what will and what will not happen. Next up here is a retrospective post about 2009 that has been an incredible year for me. Oh, btw this is my 200ed post here also, a milestone for me!
